(1829 – 1875, RBSA, British)
Birmingham flower painter. Trained as a Japanner (painter upon papier-mâché’), but turned to flower painting about 1850 gaining a good practice. Thomas exhibited at the Royal Academy (17) from 1858 to 1874, the British Institute, Suffolk Street, Portland Gallery and in the principal provincial towns. His flowers are painted with much freshness and delicacy that in its own way is really charming.
